Misys Sophis architecture and technology provides capability to deploy strong connections with any specific external applications and client proprietary systems thanks to a wide range of user-friendly technical tools.
Interfaces can be developed directly by the client or by Misys Sophis engineers or a combination of the two depending on client's appetite for maintaining in-house development resource.
Misys Sophis customisation and interfaces
There are several methods available for creating additional interfaces:
- API: Misys Sophis Toolkit provides users with the opportunity to build real-time or batch interfaces with external more complex systems via a powerful and complete set of documented APIs. Toolkit gives read/write access to API and guarantee backward compatibility when migrating to upper versions. The Toolkit languages available are C++ and C#. A set of wizards and an online forum help the developers community work faster with the Toolkit
- Web Services: Misys Sophis Service Oriented Architecture allows interfacing smoothly with external data and security masters with up and running MQ Series and http links. Misys Sophis also gives the ability to communicate with Web Services with predefined business input data format in XML/FpML. Transactions, instruments, portfolios, third parties, portfolio valuation and risk calculations can be imported and exported. Misys Sophis relies on IBM WebSphere Application Server technology to expose its API in a scalable and load-balanced environment
- Light and rich application: Misys Sophis gives the opportunity to use its API in Web applications using a light/rich client approach (Silverlight, Ajax) via an easy-to-use management console in the application where XML sources can be selected to be exposed in the Web clients
- VB.NET: to build simple real-time interfaces with applications such as Excel, Word and other simple standalone programs
